We were overwhelmed by the amount and variety of baked goods brought to the First National Bank of River Falls on Thursday morning--cookies, bars, breads, cupcakes, muffins, scones, and more.
The total for both the bake sale and monetary contributions was $794. Royal Neighbors will match up to $500 for the activity, bringing the total to $1294. This amount will be added to our scholarship fund, which supports annually two $500 scholarships to area high school seniors. This year these scholarships will be awarded to one student from River Falls and one from Ellsworth.
As we have mentioned before, this is the last year that Royal Neighbors will be participating in the scholarship program. So, we will need to have a discussion about other ways to raise funds to support area scholarships.
