Welcome to 2015!

I thought I would begin the year with warm thoughts.  Marylin Plansky will soon be basking in the sunshine of southern climes, walking along just such a beach.  Ruth Wood just returned from a lovely week in the warmth of Mexico, and other RFArea REA members, no doubt, will be enjoying warmer temperatures away from River Falls in the coming weeks.

But for those of us who are toughing it out (there are some of us who actually like the cold and the snow!), here is a brief reminder of upcoming events.

Wednesday, January 14th, at 10:30 a.m., we will be meeting at the River Falls Public Library in the Board Room to discuss The Teacher Wars.  Check your email for an earlier message I sent to you about the book with links.

Wednesday, January 21st.  The Board will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the West Wind.   Members are welcome to attend all Board meetings.  The regular meeting of the RFArea REA will commence at 11:00 .m. at the West Wind.  We are happy to welcome Dr. Todd Savage, Professor of School Psychology at UW-River Falls and president of the national organization of school psychologists, who will be speaking to us about diversity in the schools, particularly issues regarding LGBT students, bullying, and other matters of contemporary concern.
